How to Obtain a DEA
License
The Alabama of Physician Assistants
(ASPA) is proud to inform all physician
assistants (PAs) in the state how to
complete the requirements for a DEA
license.
1. Complete 12 hours of approved CME.
This includes the four and eight hour
courses offered by the Medical Society
of Alabama (http://www.masalink.org)
and the four hour course offered by
ASPA at our annual conference.
2. Request the appropriate paperwork
from the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners.
Contact Randy Moore at (334) 242-4116
or rmoore@albme.org and request application
for Qualified Alabama Controlled Substances
Certificate (QACSC).
3. Once a PA has completed steps 1
and 2 and received their QACSC license,
then he or she must complete the necessary
paperwork for their DEA license. This

The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners
has completed the necessary paperwork
for the physician assistants in Alabama
